Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Jim Risch has selected eight college students from around the state of Idaho to serve as summer interns in four of his Senate offices. The interns have the opportunity to engage in the national level of government while assisting with constituent services and legislative research.

“This group of interns is well qualified and will serve Idaho very well. Their time as interns in the United States Senate is an excellent way to learn about the legislative branch of government and the issues facing our country,” said Risch.

The interns are:

Washington, D.C.

Anna Pratt is a sophomore at the University of Idaho and is a native of Blackfoot. Anna is pursuing a degree in Agricultural Science as well as Leadership and Communication. She is a cowgirl, having worked at Pratt Land Cattle as a ranch hand for more than a decade. Anna is the daughter of Mark and Wendy Pratt.

Jessica Fernandez is a senior at Idaho State University and is a native of Pocatello. She is double majoring in Sociocultural Anthropology and Sociology with plans to attend law school at the University of Idaho. Jessica works as a floral designer at Dellart Floral in Pocatello and has completed internships at Walt Disney World and The University of Fairbanks. She is the daughter of Robbin DePew.

Meghan Fulcher is a graduate of Boise State University and is a native of Meridian. She studied International Business and Mandarin Chinese at BSU. Meghan has served previously as an assistant to Idaho Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis and is the daughter of State Senator Russ Fulcher and Kara Fulcher.

Greg Casey, Jr. is a junior at Hampden-Sydney College and is a native of Alexandria, Virginia. He is pursuing a degree in English with a minor in History. He has previously served Senator Crapo as a summer intern. Greg is the son of Greg and Julia Casey.

Max Head is a senior at Boise State University and a native of Boise. He is pursuing a degree in International Business with a minor in Spanish Business. Max has interned previously at the Idaho Department of Commerce and as a Latin American Market Research intern at Scentsy, Inc. in Meridian.  He is the son of Alan and Patty Head.

Boise

Sean Rinehart is a senior at the University of Idaho and native of Nampa. He is pursuing a double major in Political Science and Economics with plans to apply for law school. Sean is the son of Mike and Suzanne Rinehart.

Twin Falls

John Loebs is a sophomore at Middlebury College and is a native of Twin Falls. He is considering a major in Classical Studies and enjoys reading and traveling. He is the son of Grant and Anne Loebs.

Coeur d’Alene

Luke Kilcup is a sophomore at North Idaho College and a native of Gig Harbor, Washington. He is studying pre-law curriculum and Economics. He has interned previously at the office of Congressman Labrador. Luke is the son of David and Stacy Kilcup.
