Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Jim Risch has been named “Most Conservative Member of the Senate” for the second straight year and the third time overall since he began his term in 2009.
“I came to the United States Senate to change the culture of doing business as usual,” said Risch. “Idahoans continually tell me that they want more jobs, more freedom, and more fiscal sanity. To earn the distinction of ‘Most Conservative’ is a reflection of the wishes of the people of Idaho and their committent to strong constitutional values.”
National Journal examined all of the 291 Senate roll-call votes in the first session of the 113th Congress. From those 291 votes, National Journal identified the votes that show ideological distinctions between senators, which resulted in 117 votes in the Senate for 2013.
