Nearly 200 Idahoans attend seminar in Boise, Idaho
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) kicked off the ‘Boost Your Business’ Seminar in Boise. The seminar, co-hosted by Facebook, Zions Bank, and Idaho Small Business Development Center, helped teach local small business owners about resources to optimize their online presence and engage consumers. In introductory remarks, Risch discussed the current regulatory climate for entrepreneurs and highlighted practical ways to promote growth and sustainability for the 28 million small businesses in our nation. “We know that small businesses are vital to Idaho’s economy, employing nearly 285,000 people across our state,” Senator Risch, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship said during opening remarks. “96.6 percent of Idaho businesses are small businesses, and I know that there are more that start up each and every day. It is because small businesses are so important to our local, state, and national economy that Washington needs to do all we can for businesses to start, survive, and grow.”
Following Risch’s remarks, a Facebook small business expert presented on the latest Facebook best practices and strategies for success. A question and answer session was later held, featuring a panel of local small business people who shared Facebook tips, tricks and suggestions. The Boise-area small businesses that participated on the panel were: Whitney Hansen Co., Payette Brewing Co., and North End Organic Nursery.
