Idaho Sen. Jim Risch, who serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is in line to possibly chair the panel next year if Republicans hold their Senate majority, issued this statement today on the resignation of Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations:
“Ambassador Haley brought significant expertise and class to the job as she worked to restore America’s leadership on the world stage. Her patient yet determined approach to our U.S. interests and foreign policy helped this Administration achieve unprecedented progress on many key priorities, both at the U.N. and across the globe. Ambassador Haley has much to be proud of; she has appropriately won respect across the political spectrum and I congratulate her on a job well done.”
