Boise, Idaho – Today the Trump Administration announced that U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) was named an official Member of the Presidential Delegation to the Republic of Korea for the Closing Ceremony and events of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games. Risch is a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Intelligence committees. 

"In accepting the President’s invitation to represent the United States at the Olympic Closing Ceremony, I know all Idahoans will join me in appreciating what a great honor this is for our state," said Senator Risch. "The participation of our athletes in these international events has made our nation proud and it will be a real privilege to participate in the ceremonies closing these 23rd Olympic Games. I also look forward to engaging with other national leaders in PyeongChang."

Ivanka Trump, who is leading the Presidential Delegation, said: “It is an honor to have Senator Risch join our Presidential Delegation to the Winter Olympics in the Republic of Korea. He is a leading voice in Foreign Policy, and a wonderful addition to the group. I look forward to a great trip together, as we celebrate the strength, spirit, and soul of our American athletes.”
