WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Jim Risch, senior member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced the selection of Florence’s Exquisite Chocolates in Rexburg as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for November 2021. Florence’s Exquisite Chocolates will be recognized for its contribution to the Rexburg community in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.
Located in downtown Rexburg, Florence’s Exquisite Chocolates is a family-owned candy shop that has served the Rexburg area for over four decades. Prior to its founding, owner Florence Manwaring took a job at the Allen Wertz Candy Company to help pay for college. What started as a way to make ends meet turned into a passion, and in 1981, Florence realized her dream and opened Florence’s Exquisite Chocolates in downtown Rexburg.
Florence’s chocolates have received praise from leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and former U.S. President Ronald Reagan, causing sales to go through the roof. Florence’s Exquisite Chocolates, which today is owned by Florence’s son Brian and his wife Michelle, maintains a national following, shipping their chocolates to customers and distributors nationwide.
“Florence’s Exquisite Chocolates is a staple in the Rexburg community,” said Risch. “Their decadent treats and family-owned philosophy have made them a household name in Eastern Idaho and beyond.”
“Congratulations to Florence’s Exquisite Chocolates and its employees on being the Idaho Small Business of the Month for November 2021,” Risch continued. “You make our great state proud, and I look forward to your continued growth and success.”
Background: Idaho is consistently ranked one of the best places in the country to do business. Each month, Senator Risch selects an Idaho small business that exemplifies the Idaho values of hard work, entrepreneurial spirit, and exceptional commitment to community.
