WASHINGTON – This week, U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) announced the selection of three interns to serve in his Washington, D.C. office for Spring 2021. While in their roles, the interns will have the opportunity to learn about policymaking at the federal level while assisting in the daily operations of the office.

“Pursuing a Senate internship during a pandemic takes impressive dedication,” Risch said. “I’m glad to welcome this group of interns to my office staff during this unprecedented time in our history, and I am confident they will do an excellent job serving Idaho.”

Senator Risch’s Washington, D.C. interns:

Eric Anderson grew up in Reno, Nevada and recently graduated from Boise State University with a degree in communications. Interested in energy, foreign relations, and small business and entrepreneurship, Eric is excited to learn more about Senator Risch’s committee work. In his free time, Eric enjoys mountain biking, playing golf, and watching baseball.

Olivia Love, daughter of Steve and Joanne Love, is a native of Star, Idaho and will be attending one of the United States Service Academies starting in Summer 2021. With strong interests in intelligence, foreign relations, and veterans’ affairs, Olivia hopes to learn more about the Senator’s role in U.S. national security. Outside of her professional life, Olivia can be found hiking, snowboarding, or trying new cuisine.

Matt Clemence was born and raised in Granite Bay, California and is a recent graduate of Boise State University with a degree in political science and political communication. Having interests in foreign affairs and intelligence, Matt also looks forward to exploring the Senator’s role in national security.
