WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho), a senior member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee was named Ranking Member of the Water and Power Subcommittee.
“Idahoans know how important water is for agriculture, energy production, and transportation,” said Risch. “As Ranking Member of the Water and Power Subcommittee, I look forward to protecting Idaho’s water rights, preserving the Northwest’s clean hydropower resources, and developing solutions to improve the West’s drought conditions.”
The Subcommittee on Water and Power provides oversight and proposes legislation regarding irrigation, flood control, the Bonneville Power Administration, hydropower systems, and groundwater resources and management.
