Washington, D.C. - In recognition of their tremendous efforts and years of success, U.S. Senator Jim Risch has named Best Bath Systems as the Idaho Small Business of the Day for National Small Business Week 2014.  The company will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the United States Senate.

“I am pleased to recognize Best Bath Systems as an outstanding small business.  Over the past 40 years, this company has characterized the entrepreneurial spirit of Idaho,” said Sen. Risch. “Family owned and operated in Caldwell, Idaho, Best Bath Systems is recognized as a leading authority in bath and shower designs for people of all abilities. Since 2000, Best Bath Systems has built a robust relationship with the Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC), where Mr. Multanen currently serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Council.  The experts at the Idaho SBDC have assisted Best Bath Solutions in streamlining their goals and expanding their sales.  Today, the company has expanded its sales to $20 million and currently has a network of 490 dealers across North America. This year, the U.S. Small Business Administration recognized Best Bath Systems’ distinguished accomplishments and named Gary, Susan, Megan and Jay Multanen as the 2014 Idaho Small Business Persons of the Year.  I congratulate the Multanen family and everyone at Best Bath Systems on their success.”

Founded in 1994 by Gary Multanen, Best Bath Systems continues to design and manufacture original bathing units for commercial and residential bathrooms.  Their dedication to offering bathing solutions for individuals of all abilities exemplifies the compassion and selflessness so characteristic of the people in my home state.  Their commitment to high-quality products and customer service has enabled them to remain innovative in a unique marketplace. I am proud to see an Idaho business with an exceptional reputation across North America use the valuable resources the SBDC program has to offer and be celebrated by the SBA for their hard work, dedication and commitment to the community.

Senator Risch is the highest ranking Republican on the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.  The committee oversees proposed legislation on matters relating to entrepreneurship and provides oversight of the Small Business Administration.  They also research, investigate and report all problems relating to American’s small businesses to the full Senate.
