Also weighing in on Twitter early this morning was 1st District Idaho GOP Rep. Raul Labrador, who grew up in Las Vegas after moving from Puerto Rico at the age of 13. “Becca & I are praying for the victims in #LasVegas & their families. Vegas is a strong, resilient community that will overcome any tragedy,” he tweeted.

And state Rep. Luke Malek, R-Coeur d’Alene, who is among the candidates running for the 1st District congressional seat in 2018, tweeted, “I am praying for all those all those impacted by the horrific events in #LasVegas."

David Leroy, who also is running for the 1st District congressional seat, issued this statement today: “I'm disheartened in the face of another senseless tragedy. I can only say that now, more than ever, it's time for our nation to turn to prayer. We pray for healing for our nation's people and for national unity. We pray for the families of the 50+ people who have died and for the recovery of the 400+ injured and all affected by this tragedy. We pray that evil men like this change their hearts and never have the opportunity or the desire to kill innocent people again. No matter our political or religious beliefs, today we must stand as one America.”

Sen. Jim Risch issued this statement: “Today is a sad day for all Americans. Vicki and I are praying for the victims of this horrible event and for their families. As usual, our first responders reacted in their typical heroic fashion.”
