WASHINGTON – The nomination of Idaho State Senator Bart Davis to serve as Idaho’s next United States Attorney was confirmed this evening by the United States Senate. Davis’ nomination cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee by voice-vote on Thursday, September 7. Following his confirmation, U.S. Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch made the following statements:
“Senator Davis is a dedicated public servant who, in this role, will uphold the law, justly prosecute those charged with crimes, and ensure all Idahoans receive equal justice under the law,” said Crapo, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee which had jurisdiction over Senator Davis’ nomination. “I congratulate Senator Davis on his confirmation to be Idaho’s next United States Attorney.”
“Senator Bart Davis is uniquely qualified for the job and I have no doubt he will serve the people of Idaho well as U.S. Attorney,” said Senator Risch. “I’m very pleased to see his nomination pass the Senate and I look forward to working with him on behalf of Idahoans.”
He is currently a commissioner to the Uniform Law Commission and a past chairman of The Council of State Governments. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Idaho College of Law.
