Idaho's entirely Republican political delegation in Washington DC offered kind words for President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee.
Crapo, who's on the Senate Judiciary Committee that will review Gorsuch's nomination, congratulated him on the honor of being nominated and said he looked forward to meeting Gorsuch. Meanwhile, Labrador said he hoped Gorsuch would follow in the tradition of Scalia and uphold conservative principles.
Representative Mike Simpson didn't weigh in on the Supreme Court nominee.
Senator Jim Risch was invited to the White House to be present at Gorsuch's nomination announcement. He said Gorsuch has an impressive track record of defending the constitution and has a reputation as an originalist – meaning he tries to interpret the constitution in a way he believes the Framers would.
