Washington, D.C. - In recognition of their tremendous efforts and years of success, U.S. Senator Jim Risch has named Micro 100 as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for October. The company will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the United States Senate.
“I am pleased to recognize Micro 100 as an outstanding small business. This small business exemplifies the perseverance and entrepreneurial spirit of Idaho,” said Risch. “An indispensable member of the Meridian community, Micro 100 has been a leading manufacturer in the region and is now a $15 million dollar a year company. I congratulate everyone at Micro 100 on their success and wish them the very best in the future.”
Founded in 1969, Micro 100 has grown from a father-and-son team in a home carport to a multi-million dollar carbide tool manufacturer employing over 100 Idahoans. This family business’ dedication to customer service and high quality performance exemplifies the hard work and ingenuity that is so characteristic of Idaho.
Senator Risch is the highest ranking Republican on the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. The committee oversees proposed legislation on matters relating to entrepreneurship and provides oversight of the Small Business Administration. They also research, investigate and report all problems relating to American’s small businesses to the full Senate.
