Washington, DC – Idaho Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch today voted with the Senate to unanimously confirm Wendy Olson of Boise as Idaho’s next U.S. Attorney. Olson was recommended by Congressman Walt Minnick and nominated by the White House in March.
“Wendy Olson has a background and the experience that makes her an excellent choice to serve as Idaho’s U.S. Attorney. I supported her nomination and am pleased that she has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate,” said Risch. “I also want to recognize the distinguished service of Tom Moss, the outgoing Idaho U.S. Attorney. For the past decade Tom has been a strong advocate of the justice system and working with local governments and the state in prosecuting gang members. His efforts have done much good for all of Idaho.”
Crapo called Olson this morning to congratulate her on the confirmation. “Ms. Olson has a distinguished track record of service already in the Idaho U.S. Attorney’s office and I am confident she will be a strong advocate for law enforcement in Idaho,” Crapo said. “I also want to salute outgoing U.S. Attorney Tom Moss for his service as well and know he will make the transition in the U.S. Attorney’s office a smooth one."
“I congratulate Wendy Olson on her recent confirmation by the U.S. Senate,” said Simpson. “She joins Idaho’s long list of superb U.S. Attorneys, including Tom Moss and Guy Hurlbutt. Wendy has exceptional qualifications and I am confident she will excel in this new role as well.”
“Wendy Olson’s confirmation is great news for our state,” said Minnick. “Her distinguished record and personal integrity make her an excellent choice. Wendy will continue Idaho’s tradition of first-rate US Attorneys, including her predecessor, Mr. Tom Moss. I thank him for his years of service.”
