WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Jim Risch, senior member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced the selection of Black Sheep Sporting Goods as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for October 2022. Black Sheep Sporting Goods will be recognized for its contribution to the community in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.
Since 1975, Black Sheep Sporting Goods has provided Idahoans with hunting equipment, outdoor gear, firearms, and toys. Now, Black Sheep has expanded with several concept stores including Knives and Optics, Hydration Station, and American Heritage.
In early 2021, David Knolls and his son, Brian, purchased Coeur d’Alene’s Silver Lake Mall and relocated Black Sheep’s retail store there. As longtime Idahoans, the Knolls have made significant investments to bring brick-and-mortar stores back to life.
“For nearly five decades, Idaho’s outdoorsmen and women have relied on Black Sheep Sporting Goods for their hunting, outdoor, and firearm needs,” said Risch.
“Congratulations to Black Sheep Sporting Goods on being the Idaho Small Business of the Month for October 2022,” Risch continued. “You make our great state proud, and I look forward to your continued growth and success.”
Background: Idaho is consistently ranked one of the best places in the country to do business. Each month, Senator Risch selects an Idaho small business that exemplifies the Idaho values of hard work, entrepreneurial spirit, and exceptional commitment to community.
