WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Jim Risch, senior member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced the selection of City Limits Brew Pub in Wallace as the Idaho Small Business of the Month for October 2021. City Limits Brew Pub will be recognized for its contribution to the Wallace community in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.
Nestled in the hills of Wallace, Idaho, City Limits Brew Pub is a restaurant and brewery known for its extensive selection of beer, food, amenities, and quality service. Prior to its founding, Mark Burmeister brewed beer as a hobby while working in the oil industry. After his retirement, Mark established his own brewing business and obtained a brewery license in 2008. Equipped with a 10-gallon brewing system, he crafted an assortment of microbrews and distributed them to local businesses and taps. People loved Mark’s beer and demand soared.
In response to the beer’s rising popularity, a group of partners joined and purchased a new building and an adjacent RV park in Wallace in 2010 to accommodate the business’ growth. Led by partner Don Hoffman, the building underwent a remodel and opened under its new name, City Limits Pub. In addition to installing a kitchen and a 217-gallon brewing system, new bathroom facilities and log cabins were added to the adjacent RV park. The business formally changed its name to City Limits Brew Pub in 2015 and has become a thriving restaurant, pub, and attraction for thousands of locals and visitors each year.
In addition to providing customers with quality food, beer, and lodging, City Limits hosts several events for the Wallace community, including an Oktoberfest celebration and the biennial Welcome Back to Summer town BBQ, where local businesses showcase their upcoming summer events. The business also supports local community causes and has contributed to several charities over the years.
