WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) issued the following statement following the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Conservation and Landscape Health final rule, which violates multiple-use requirements and blocks access to federal lands.

“Multiple-use is a mandate, not a suggestion. It is meant to protect Idahoans’ way of life, yet President Biden is attempting to take that away,” said Risch.“His BLM rule threatens Idaho’s access to our public lands for recreation, grazing, energy production, and mineral development. Conservation is often an outcome of these pre-established uses, but it was never intended to replace productivity on our public lands.”
