Washington, D.C. - In recognition of National Small Business Week, U.S. Senator Jim Risch has named Western Idaho Cabinets as the Idaho Small Business of the Day. The company will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the United States Senate.
“I am pleased to recognize Western Idaho Cabinets as an outstanding small business. This is a company that started as a two-person operation and now employs 170 people,” said Risch. “They have a streamlined manufacturing process to save time and material and they diligently focus on customer service. I congratulate them on their success and truly building the American Dream.”
Western Idaho Cabinets began in 1993 when Dale Wilson and Brett Hatfield partnered to build cabinets in Dale’s garage. In spite of little experience in the field, they built a company with a focus on an efficient manufacturing process, quality and customer satisfaction.
Twenty years later, Western Idaho Cabinets has 170 employees with sales reaching nearly $15 million. While the largest cabinet manufacturer in the state, they keep a strong emphasis on quality. That quality was demonstrated in the Western Idaho 2012 Parade of Homes when they garnered first place in four of seven categories.
Their production model is often studied by others who want to streamline their processes for their products and both Wilson and Hatfield are more than happy to help others learn to be more efficient in their business.
Senator Risch is the highest ranking Republican on the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. The committee oversees proposed legislation on matters relating to entrepreneurship and provides oversight of the Small Business Administration. They also research, investigate and report all problems relating to American’s small businesses to the full Senate.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the National Small Business Week.
