Washington, D.C.- Idaho Senator Jim Risch, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is taking part in a tour of the Middle East during the U.S. Senate's April state work period. He is joined by U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senators Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and John Barrasso (R-WY).

During the tour, the members will conduct officials meetings with government officials regarding political, economic and military/security issues affecting bilateral relations. They will also visit with U.S. military personnel and commanders.

"I look forward to meeting with the various government and policy leaders on this trip," said Risch. "The discussions I have with them will provide valuable insight for my work on the Foreign Relations and other committees on which I serve."

Upon his return, Risch will address the Boise Chamber of Commerce Congressional Forum at Noon on Friday April, 17th at the Owyhee Plaza Hotel. He will discuss his recent trip and other issues being taken up by Congress.
