Washington, DC - Members of Idaho's Congressional Delegation are welcoming the new manager for the Department of Energy's Idaho Operations Office. Rick Provencher will become DOE-Idaho Manager next week, succeeding interim manager Dennis Miotla. Provencher is the former manager of the Idaho Cleanup Project at the Idaho National Laboratory.
"I have been very pleased with the progress of the cleanup project at INL under the leadership of Rick Provencher. As DOE's new Idaho manager, I am confident Rick will continue to achieve positive results at this renowned national lab," said Senator Jim Risch, ranking member of the Senate Energy Subcommittee.
"Having someone with Rick Provencher's previous experience on the Idaho Cleanup Project since 2004 means he already knows Idaho and the INL along with our vision for the lab," said Senator Mike Crapo.
"I am very pleased with DOE's choice of Rick Provencher to lead its Idaho office during a time of great optimism for the future of nuclear energy and INL," said Congressman Mike Simpson, a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water. "My staff and I look forward working with Rick on the opportunities and challenges facing INL and its outstanding workforce."
