Boise, Idaho – On Thursday, July 18th, U.S. Columbia River Treaty Negotiator Jill Smail will lead a town hall on the Columbia River Treaty, which is up for renegotiation between the U.S. and Canada. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) will provide pretaped remarks for the event. The town hall is free of charge and open to the public.

On Friday, July 19th, Senator Risch will provide remarks at a kick-off event to celebrate the establishment of the Idaho Women’s Business Center. The event will take place at the Idaho State Capitol.
The new Idaho Women’s Business Center, hosted by the Idaho Hispanic Foundation and the University of Idaho, will provide resources and tools to Idaho’s female entrepreneurs to help them start and grow businesses. Risch, who is a member and former chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, played an integral role in helping bring this vital program back to the state of Idaho by working with the Small Business Administration to reopen the application process and tailor the program to better fit the needs of our rural state.
