Lewiston, Idaho - U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID), chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, has named Hillcrest Aircraft Company of Lewiston as the "Small Business of the Month" for August 2017. Hillcrest Aircraft Company will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.
“I would like to congratulate Gale Wilson, his family and all of his employees for their hard work and commitment to protecting our communities from wildfires,” said Chairman Risch. “As Idahoans know firsthand, catastrophic wildfires threaten our homes, businesses, and way of life, particularly in the summer months. Companies like Hillcrest help agencies better control these large wildfires in a safe and efficient manner.”
Hillcrest Aircraft Company is a utility helicopter company with a broad spectrum of work. The Wilson family’s legacy of promoting a strong work ethic coupled with strict safety requirements has built the company into a premier helicopter business. In 1968, Hillcrest became the first certified Bell customer service facility in Idaho and one year later, in 1969, they became an approved FAA repair station. Today, Hillcrest’s main focus is aerial firefighting. Whether transporting firefighters to remote areas or dropping hundreds of gallons of water on a raging fire, Hillcrest prides itself on protecting communities from dangerous wildfires. They have fought fires in all of the lower 48 states during their sixty plus years of experience. On top of aerial firefighting, Hillcrest flies for power and timber companies, photographers, videographers, and even fish planters.
The Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship oversees proposed legislation on matters relating to entrepreneurship and provides oversight of the Small Business Administration. The committee also researches, investigates and reports all problems relating to America’s small businesses to the full Senate. As Chairman, Risch will honor America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Senate each month.
