Over 100 Idahoans attend seminar in Idaho Falls

Idaho Falls, Idaho – Today, U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-ID) delivered keynote remarks at Google’s ‘Get Your Business Online’ event in Idaho Falls, a free workshop designed to help small businesses connect with customers online. Speaking directly with Idaho small business owners, Risch discussed the current regulatory climate for entrepreneurs and highlighted practical ways to promote growth and sustainability for the 28 million small businesses across our nation.

Excerpts from Risch’s remarks are below:

“America’s small businesses are truly the engine that keeps our economy running, creating two of every three jobs in this country, and more than half of the jobs in Idaho. I believe that Congress has a responsibility to help this engine roar by getting the government out of the way of our nation’s entrepreneurs, the most talented people in America when it comes to creating jobs. We need to do all that we can to continue to provide opportunities for small businesses to do what they have done so well to help make this the greatest country in the world over the last 241 years.

“Small business optimism has hit record high levels in recent months, due in large part to Congress and the new Administration working hand-in-hand to undo the regulatory burden that has been hampering small business growth. My Senate colleagues and I will continue to work with the Administration on rolling back regulations that don’t make sense, while taking a closer look at other issues facing the diverse small business community.

“I am confident in America’s entrepreneurs, who are innovative and tenacious. On behalf of all of you, I work every day as Chairman of the Senate Small Business Committee to ensure that you can be optimistic about the future of your business. I’d like to thank all of you here today, most of you who are small business owners yourselves, and those of you who join me in working to support our nation’s entrepreneurs and small business owners, the real backbone of our nation.”
